This isn’t your standard Mt Toubkal trek. Our Atlas Mountains & Toubkal Ascent has been carefully designed by expedition leaders with real mountain experience prioritising acclimatisation, mountain safety, and summit success. This route follows the climb high, sleep low principle, proven to maximise performance and comfort at altitude.

While many operators head straight for the refuge, we’ve built in two acclimatisation days to allow your body to adjust naturally to the elevation. The journey begins in Imlil, with a trek over Tizi M’zzik Pass (2450 m) and a descent to Tamsoult Refuge (2250 m), surrounded by the cascading Ighouliden waterfalls. This slower, more deliberate approach not only improves your endurance at altitude but also lets you experience remote valleys and mountain life that most visitors never see.

From there, you’ll ascend to Aguelzim Pass (3560 m) one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the High Atlas before dropping down to Toubkal Refuge (3207 m) for your summit push.

Summit day begins before dawn, climbing under starlight toward the 4167 m summit of Mt Toubkal, North Africa’s highest point. As sunrise spreads across the Atlas and out to the Sahara, the view is unforgettable ridgelines glowing gold above the clouds, silence broken only by the wind. Every step is guided by our professional, safety-focused team, ensuring a steady pace and strong ascent without unnecessary risk.

After celebrating on the summit, descend back through the valleys to Imlil and return to Marrakech finishing your journey not just with a summit, but with a sense of connection to the culture, landscapes, and rhythm of the Atlas Mountains.
